The Best Ab Workout For Mommy Tummy

The Best Ab Workout For Mommy Tummy

How much better would women feel about themselves if bounce back culture wasn’t a thing! The reality is, the majority of women experience abdominal separation after pregnancy and this can cause a mommy tummy. It’s not that you didn’t bounce back, it’s that rehab work needs to be done to repair damaged muscles.

Over 60% of women have some degree of ab separation, which means there is a whole lot of us that need to work on rehabbing our core muscles.

It breaks my heart that so many women feel negatively about themselves in their postpartum years because they didn’t ‘bounce back’.

So if you’ve been feeling self conscious about having a mommy tummy, there is good reason for it!

We are postpartum for life, so whether you had your baby months, years or decades ago, it’s never too late to strengthen and repair the muscles that were weakened and damaged from pregnancy.

Mommy tummy is often caused by abdominal separation and it can be extremely disheartening to still look pregnant years after giving birth. I was in that situation after my second son and it definitely knocked my confidence a little.

Basically, the separation in your abdominal muscles leaves a gap in your stomach which makes everything push out, making you still look pregnant.

As well as the unwanted mommy tummy appearance, it can also cause back pain, abdominal pain and incontinece amongst other things.

So while it can feel disheartening, rest assured, there is a lot you can do to regain your physical appearance and strength.
